John Edward Burns, Jr.

John E. Burns, Jr., 75, of Dunedin, Florida, passed away April 14, 2016 after a long struggle with COPD. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara C. Burns. He is also survived by his sister, Dayna Martin, and her husband Doug. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Alexis, Connor, Dillon and John IV. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Burns, and two sons, Eric and John, III. Originally from Fairborn, Ohio, John and Barbara retired to Florida in 1994. While their last two years have been in Dunedin, most of their Florida time was spent in Sebring. John was a graduate of Miami (Ohio) University and was a member of both the Football and Track teams. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or church. Services will be held at 11 am, April 20, 2016 at the Unity Life Centre, 10471 S. Orange Blossom Blvd., Sebring, FL 33875 and at 11 am, April 23, 2016 at Mease Manor, 700 Mease Plaza, Dunedin, FL 34698.
