John Eugene Barker, age 55, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Avon Park, Florida on March 21, 1959 to the late Harold and Betty Barker and has been a life time resident. John worked as a ranch hand in the cattle industry and loved his dogs, fishing, and hunting. He loved spending time outdoors, and with his family and friends. John also served as a past member of the Story of Jesus and is of the Christian faith. He is survived by his daughters: Kalee Barker, Smokee Whaley (Randall), sister: Lee Sizemore (Glenn), niece: Renee Grider (Drew), nephew: Jason Sizemore, great niece: Chaise Faircloth, and step grandchild: Andon Whaley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. A graveside funeral service will be held at Hart Cemetery in Lemon Grove on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in memory of John Barker to: The Story of Jesus P.O.
