John Wesley Auman, Jr.

John W. Auman, Jr. (Jack), age 96, of Avon Park passed away on July 30, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. Jack was born October 25, 1919 in Terre Haute, IN to John W. Sr. and Effie R. Auman. Jack was a long time resident of Bellbrook, OH prior to moving to Avon Park in 1984. In his early years Jack worked for Egry Register, Sheffield Corp. and was P.R. Director for the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. Jack retired as a Copywriter for the E.F. MacDonald Co. He was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church and River Greens Golf Course. Jack enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing bridge, and spending time with his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris E. Auman (Adams). Jack is survived by his children: Andrew J. (Marilyn) Auman; Jane E. Auman; and Mary Kay (Blake) Spurlock; grandchildren: Benjamin R. Auman; Joseph M. Lewis, Jr.; Rebecca A. Auman; and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Avon Park.
