JOAN B. McCARTY Joan B. McCarty, age 83, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. She was born November 9, 1929, to Clarence and Eunice (Goldsmith) McCullough in Long Island, New York, and had been a resident of the area since 1988, coming from Miami, FL. She was a homemaker; had owned a theater company; was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and enjoyed family time. She is survived by her sons, Steven McCarty of Sebring and Jason McCarty of St. Petersburg and her brother, Danny McCullough of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael McCarty and son, Michael McCarty. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2013 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
