J. Carol Lewis, 77, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at home peacefully with her family at her side. She was born January 21, 1935, to Charles W. and Ruth (Palmer) Carman in New Castle, PA, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1991, coming from Plantation, FL. She was a Bookkeeper for an Oil Company, a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955, and was of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and online games and also enjoyed caring for plants, her cats and her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph W. Lewis of Sebring; daughters, Ramona Kent of Sebring and Linda Perham of Palm Beach County, FL; son, Ralph W. Lewis (Anastasia) of Sonoma County, CA; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Chapel, Sebring , with Rev. Ken Geren officiating. Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, with Military Honors, will be immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, FL 33881.
