Joan E. Alexander

Joan E. Alexander, 76, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at her home. She was born November 19, 1936, to Laurel and Gwen (McDonald) Carter in Jamaica, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2002, coming from Oldsmar, Florida. She was a Draftsman in the Surveying industry and was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leo J. Alexander of Sebring; children, Derek Alexander, Minnesota; Debra Alexander, Minnesota; David (Angela) Alexander, Miami, Florida; Donna (Mostafa) Brikat, Pembroke Pines, Florida; Donald (Lucille) Alexander, Arizona; Denise (Bisrat) Alemayehu, Minnesota and Dawn (Rico) Harris, Orlando, Florida; two sisters, Valerie Carter and Thelma Hendricks, both of Palm Harbor, Florida; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many other members of her family. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Sebring, with W. Mike Adams officiating. The family will receive friends the hour preceding the service. Interment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Florida, immediately following the service.
