Jettie Smith

Jettie S. Smith, 96, of Lorida, FL, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Ocala, FL. She was born August 12, 1917, to Hadd and Fannie (Rising) Singletary in Bladenboro, NC. She along with her family, were farmers and she had been a resident of Highlands County since 1961 coming from Bladenboro, NC. She loved to sew and crochet and enjoyed making candy. She was one that couldn't sit still and was always going somewhere. She loved her friends and family and never met a stranger. She was a member of the Greater Lorida Community Club, Cattlewomen's Association and Lorida Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Jettie is survived by her children Jimmie (Elsie) Smith, Lorida, FL; Eugenia (Dr. Elwin) Boles, Ocala, FL; Trudy (Richard) Smith Baker, St. Petersburg, FL; sister Bobbie Pait, Bladenboro, NC; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Ashley Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Bassinger Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, FL.
