Jesus Vazquez

REV. JESUS VAZQUEZ Age 81, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico to Calixtro and Aqueda (Figuera) Vazquez. Rev. Vazquez was an active minister for 27 years; he was a volunteer Chaplain at the Avon Park Correctional Institute, member of the American Legion, Assistant Pastor at Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Church. He was very active in his community, he enjoyed reading, visiting the sick and serving others in need, he loved spending time with his family. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War; he was a member of the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Church and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1994 coming from Puerto Rico. He is survived by his wife of 52 years-Nilda Lugo-Vazquez of Avon Park, Florida; sons-David Vazquez (Viviana) of Long Pond, Pennsylvania and Eliezer Vazquez of New Rochelle, New York; daughters-Ruth Velazquez (Julio) of Easton, Pennsylvania, Noami Soltero (Alberto) of Avon Park, Florida, Sara Rodriguez (Luis) of Avon Park, Florida, Raquel Rodriguez (Adalberto) of Puerto Rico and Rebeca Rosario (Dennis) of Brooklyn, New York; 15 brothers and sisters; 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services: Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jose Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
