Jessie “Madeline” Thompson

Madeline Thompson, 94, of Avon Park, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020. She was born July 31, 1925 in Punta Gorda, FL to Fletcher Whidden and Edna (McBean) Whidden.  Madeline was of Christian Faith and loved reading, sewing, fishing and working with flowers. She is survived by her Daughters- Judy Thomas (Earl Gene Thomas) of Avon Park; Jeri Ewton (Ron Readnour) of Avon Park; 12 Grandchildren; many Great Grandchildren and many many Great Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her Parents-Fletcher and Edna (McBean) Whidden; Sons- Gene E. Chalfant; Jack E. Chalfant; N. Broward Cline; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Raguth officiating.  Family will receive friends and relatives at 10:00 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
