Jeffery T. Mitten

Jeffery “Jeff” T. Mitten, 58, passed away surrounded by the love of his family in his home on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Avon Park, Florida.  He was born December 14, 1960 in Fremont, Ohio to Patrick and Wanda Lee (Childress) Mitten.  He had been a resident of Highlands County since 1995 coming from Bonita Springs, FL. He was of the Southern Baptist faith and was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army.  He is survived by his wife, Loretta Lynn (Lorie) Mitten of Avon Park, FL; daughter, Jena Lynn Mitten, and three step-children Amber Garcia (Angel), Danielle Burnsed (Glenn) and Mitchell Tomlinson, Jr.; four Grandchildren, Cheyenne Lily Neads, Wyatt, Krysta, and Jocelyn Garcia; five nieces and one nephew and several great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Patrick, sister, Brigette, and brother, Steven.  Memorial service will take place Saturday, June 15 at 4:30 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with family receiving friends beginning at 3:30pm.
