Jay Roscoe Child

Jay Child, age 77, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 in Sebring, FL. He was born April 13, 1944 in Hartford, CT to James Child and Dorothy (Ackerberg) Child. Jay worked in electronic sales, was of Protestant faith, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He has been a resident of Sebring since January 2021, coming from Boca Raton, FL. Jay loved history. He enjoyed reading, playing the piano, golf and travel. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Campbell Child of FL; son Daniel McCoomb of Sebring, FL; daughter – Cristen Child of MA;  Surviving are also six grandchildren – Alison McCullough and Kayla Robson of Alaska; Ryan McCoomb of MI; Darcie McCoomb of Alaska; Jason Himmelberger of FL and Jessica Himmelberger of FL, and one great grandson – Bradley McCullough of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Patricia and a son Mike McCoomb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made the Veterans Association of America.
