JANNIE EVANS BROWN Jannie Evans Brown, age 69, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice Somers House in Sebring. She was born March 4, 1944, to Martin and Maggie (Raybird) Evans in Avon Park and had been a lifelong resident. She worked in harvesting and was recognized as a pillar of the community. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, helping others and was the loving mother of ten children. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her significant other for over 35 years, James Butler, Sr. of Avon Park; six sons, Eddie, Craig, Dale, Leroy, Carlton and James; four daughters, Janice, Eunice, Consuela sand Latoya; sisters, Willie Mae and Penny and her loving brother, John; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Avon Park. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, Hal McRae Blvd., Avon Park, with Pastor Byron Wells officiating.
