Janis L. Garrison

Janis L. Garrison, 67, of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025.  She was born on September 14, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Virginia Vencuss.

Janis lived a life marked by love, dedication, and kindness. In 2013, she and her husband made Lake Placid their home after moving from Saratoga, New York. Known for her exceptional organizational skills and a strong work ethic, Janis excelled in her career as an executive administrator, a role she approached with passion and commitment.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Janis was a devoted wife, stepmother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Daniel A. Garrison; her cherished stepchildren, Dawn Corridar (Andrew) and Daniel Garrison II (Jolene), both of Amsterdam, NY; her brother, Thomas J. Vencuss (Wendy) of Gainesville, FL; and her treasured grandson, Vincent Corridar.

Janis found joy in traveling, especially taking cruises and road trips with her husband, and she cherished the companionship of her beloved pets. A devoted caregiver, she had a special gift for making everyone around her feel valued and supported. Her strength, kindness, loyalty, and dedication will forever remain an inspiration to all who knew her.

In honor of Janis’ memory, donations may be made to support pancreatic cancer research, a cause close to her heart.

She will be deeply missed and remembered for all the lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Paradise Lake Village Clubhouse at 1:00pm.
