Janice R. Shonk

Janice R. Shonk, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Lake Placid, Florida. She was born on July 14, 1935 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Earnest and Euna (Hagley) Riley. Janice had been a resident of Lake Placid since 1995 coming from Indiana. She spent her career as a cashier for IGA and Winn Dixie Grocery Stores. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Sebring. Janice enjoyed making crafts and especially loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them. She is survived by her daughter: Teresa (David) Pickover-Cocoa, FL; two sons: Gary Moore-Lake Placid, FL and Larry (Susie) Moore-Zolfo Springs, FL, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands: Conley Moore, Houston Wilkinson, Leon Shonk and granddaughter: Kristen Moore. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, December 13, 2014 beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Ken Lambert officiating at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Sebring. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
