Janet Claudine Dalton, affectionately known as Jan, left us on December 22, 2025, in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 88.
Her friends and family know “Mamaw” filled each corner of her life with laughter, love, and an unmistakable flair that will forever resonate with all who knew her.Jan was the ultimate US Army Wife. For 20 years, she proudly served alongside her husband, Bill offering unconditional support and a hefty dose of discipline to their four flat-topped army brats which were her greatest treasures.Family gatherings were a riot, with Jan at the center, entertaining everyone with her teasing banter and zero filters! Speaking of entertainment, Jan loved animals—especially her hilariously unattractive yet lovable pug, Olive!Together with her sisters and nieces, she created mischief and memories that would earn them lifelong laughter and the occasional raised eyebrow from family and friends. Whether they were visiting Graceland - the spiritual home of her beloved Elvis Presley - or embarking on escapades that can’t be printed here, their adventures were nothing short of legendary.She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and Grandson, Joshua Dalton. She is survived by her four sons: Billy Dalton (Beth), James Dalton (Diane), Jon Dalton (Jill) and Paul Dalton, along with her 10 Grandchildren: Jessica, Aaron, Alex, Dakota, Clark, Jason, Elizabeth, Cole, Cheyenne, Elijah and 17 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who fondly remember her generous spirit, her kindness, and her uncanny ability to light up the room!She will be missed dearly, but her spirit lives on in our hearts - and we all know there’s a lively party for her up there complete with classic country tunes and perhaps even a few "inappropriate shenanigans” with her sisters!Janet Claudine Dalton lit up our lives and her spirit will undoubtedly continue to guide us.
A Celebration of Life is planned where we’ll gather to share our stories, laugh until we cry, and remember a woman who turned the ordinary into the extraordinary with her quick wit and compassionate heart.
