Janet Sue Bauer, 80, of Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born on November 20, 1944, in Waverly, Iowa, she was the beloved daughter of the late Oswald and Esther Wittenburg.
A resident of Sebring since 2009, Janet was known for her adventurous spirit and warm, kindhearted nature. She was a cherished partner to her loving significant other, Anthony Lee Plyley, and a devoted mother to her son, Timothy Bauer. She is also survived by her siblings, Joyce Worellert and John Wittenburg, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Todd Bauer.
Janet dedicated her career to the insurance industry, where she worked in clerical roles, demonstrating diligence and professionalism. She enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA, snorkeling in tranquil waters, and marveling at the vibrant life beneath the waves. Her love of marine life extended to her home, where she cared for a diverse collection of fish in her aquarium.
Janet delighted in life’s simple pleasures, such as attending car shows, savoring meals at seafood restaurants, and cruising around town with the car top down or exploring waters by boat. She was also an avid reader, finding joy and comfort in books.
Her legacy is one of joy and resilience. Janet will be remembered as a fun-loving, happy, and kind woman who cherished her family and embraced life with a sense of adventure. May she rest in peace.
