Jane B. Ludwig

Our beloved Jane Blevens Ludwig passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017 with her true love and husband of 40 years by her side. She was 66.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Blevens (1997) and Margaret Cornwall Blevens (2007).

Jane is survived by her loving husband Jeff and son, Jonathan (Pamena), sisters Beverly Graves (Boyd) and Nancy Sandidge (John), brothers Chuck Blevens (Sandra) and Jim Blevens (Dorcas), and many nieces and nephews.  Graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1973 with a BS in education, Jane taught elementary children with learning disabilities in Maryland, Tennessee, California, and Florida. In 2006 the Highlands County School Board honored Jane with its Teacher of the Year award.  Her distinguished career spanned 43 years before Jane retired in 2016.  Jane was a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, and a kind-hearted, beautiful person. We will carry her memory in our hearts always.  A private family service was held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home.  A celebration of life gathering will be held at a future date. A lifelong advocate for children, Jane would wish any remembrance gifts to be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105. www.stjude.org
