James R. Woods

Ricky Woods, age 61, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 in Connerton, FL. He was born on February 13, 1955 in Avon Park, FL to James Clifford and Dorothy Viola (Lightsey) Woods. Ricky had been a resident of Tampa since 1970 having come from Frostproof, FL. He was a member of the Faith Outreach Church in Tampa. Ricky was an avid race fan, loved Nascar, and raced cars on dirt tracks. He loved all sports particularly football. He especially loved his family. Ricky is survived by his daughter: Angie; mother: Viola Coleman; brothers: Bruce (Bonnie) Schwendeman of Floral City, FL; Douglas (Tonia) Schwendeman of Ruskin, FL; Charles (Jodi) Schwendeman of Mentor, OH; Thomas (Angie) Coleman of Tampa, FL; Billy (Terry) Coleman of Clearwater, FL; Marvin (Theresa) Coleman of Pinellas County; sister: Susan Weeks of Frostproof, FL; and two grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, Fl. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park with burial to follow at the Corinth cemetery in Bereah, FL.
