James Kyle Wilkes

James Kyle Wilkes, age 83, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Winter Haven, FL. He was born on November 22, 1940, in Gainesville, FL, to Ray Vaughn Wilkes and Violet Mae Holder (Wilkes).

James was a dedicated Building Inspector in the construction industry, a profession he excelled in for many years.

In addition to his successful career, James was a man of  faith, embracing the teachings of Christianity throughout his life. He moved to Sebring in 2017, coming from St. Augustine, where he continued to be an active member of his community and church.

James was a devoted family man, survived by his loving sons, James Wilkes and Jonathan Wilkes, his daughters, Anna Kephart and Dawn Huang, and his cherished grandson, Sky Bolt Kephart. He was also survived by his brothers, Marvin Wilkes, and Cassanova Wilkes, and his sister, Barbara Valle, along with several nieces and nephews who will deeply mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Vaughn Wilkes and Violet Mae Holder (Wilkes), as well as his brothers, Jimmy Franklin, Ray Vaughn Wilkes Jr, and Johnny Wilkes. Despite these losses, James's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

James Kyle Wilkes will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the love and warmth he brought to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing leaves a void in the lives of those he touched, but his memory will be cherished forever.

In honor of James's memory. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
