JAMES DAVID PERDUE Age 85, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012. He was born January 16, 1927 at home in Montgomery, AL to Jacob David and Fannie Lou (Davidson) Perdue. He was an Avon Park High School graduate, Class of 1945, Veteran of the US Army serving from 1946-1947 and 1951-1953, a Music History Professor teaching at Stetson University, Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., member of the Delta Sigma Phi, National Education Assoc., Kappa DSI, member of the Community Church in Vero Beach, FL, and a resident of Vero Beach, FL since 1990, coming from Silver Spring, MD. He is survived by his Wife - Ruth Pendleton Purdue of Vero Beach, FL; Daughter - Katherine Hilton Jason (Seth) of Annapolis, MD; Son - Robert David Perdue of New York, NY; Mr. Perdue was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers- Clyde and Fred; Sisters - Rebie and Verna Mae. Graveside service: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Bougainvillea Cemetery with Rev. George Hall officiating. There will be a Memorial Service held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Community Church, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Church, Music Dept. or the VNA, Vero Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
