James C. Odom, age 80 passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Odom was born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 13, 1932 to Melvin and Virginia (Faust) Odom. He was a Tool and Dye maker, member of the First Baptist Church in Avon Park, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and he enjoyed traveling, photography and being involved in his church he had been a resident of Sebring, Florida since 2005 coming from Sevierville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 10 years-Gail Odom of Sebring, Florida; children-Michael Odom (Annie) of Puerto Rico, Michelle Gentry (Dennis) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Harl J. Miller (Christian) of Virginia, Scot Miller (Anne) of Virginia and Kimberly Wicks (Tom) of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; 2 brothers and 1 sister; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Avon Park, Florida with Pastor Jon Beck officiating.
