James David Mitchell

James “Jim” David Mitchell, age 74, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021.  He was born February 7, 1947 in Burlington, Vermont to Harry and Elsie (Burridge) Mitchell.  Jim served in the U.S. Marines from 1965-1971 which included 4 tours in Vietnam. He then joined the U.S. Army where he served as a Sergeant First Class E7 helicopter pilot from 1978-1989. He is survived by his Wife – Debi Mitchell of Punta Gorda, FL; Sons – Ryan Mitchell (Laurie) of Naples, FL; Jason Mitchell (Cindy) of Land O Lakes, FL; Daughter – Christy Mitchell of Indiana; Brothers – John Mitchell (Cathy) of Jasper, GA; Kirby Weldon (Sharon) of Maryland; Sister – Trisha Dennig of St. Augustine, FL; 8 Grandchildren – Landon, Griffin, Brooklyn, Richardson, Madeline, Cade, Grant, and Jayden.  A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Bible Church of Naples.
