Dr. James William McCall, "Bro. Jay," age 85, of Sebring, FL, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born on October 24, 1928 in Live Oak, FL to George Hobson and Willie Mae (Mikell) McCall. He has been a Baptist Minister for 55 years, serving at the First Baptist Church of Sebring from 1983-1993, a member of the State Board of Missions, Church Growth Consultant, Committee on Nominations, Committee on Order of Business (all of the Florida Baptist Convention), was a Trustee of the Florida Baptist Theological College, Director of the United Christian Action, Secretary Treasurer of the Florida Baptist Pastors Conference in 1989, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, member of the First Baptist Church of Sebring, and has been a resident of Sebring, FL since 1983, coming from Bonifay, FL. He is survived by his Wife of 60 years - Mary Alice McCall of Sebring, FL; Daughters - Alice Ann Lyon (Ralph) of Sebring, FL; Ila Mae Cox (Mark) of Sebring, FL; Sons - Jim S. McCall (Debbie) of McCalla, AL; Bill R. McCall (Robin) of McCalla, AL; Brother - Stan McCall (Joyce) of Umatilla, FL; Sister - Mary Mitchem of Okeechobee, FL; Grandchildren - Monica Crutchfield (Matt), Meleah Davis (Josh), Andrew Hand, Leanna Sawyer (Zach), Jamie Cox, Sam McCall, Will McCall; Great Grandchildren - E.J. and Maddie Crutchfield, and Branson Davis. He is preceded in death by his Sister - Ina Martin and a Granddaughter - Kinsley Cox. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Sebring with Rev. Bill McCall officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Pinecrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Sebring. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kinsley L.
