James Glendon Lambert

JAMES GLENDON LAMBERT James Glendon Lambert, 85, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, in Sebring. He was born December 18, 1925, to Reuben and Elizabeth (Davis) Lambert in Bowling Green, Ohio, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1985, coming from Bowling Green. He attended Bowling Green University, was a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sebring, where he had served as Head Usher. He was a member of the American Legion in Avon Park, FL; life member of VFW of Sebring; Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks in Bowling Green, Ohio; Past President of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees for the State of Florida and Chapter #288 in Sebring; District Vice- President of the National and Retired Federal Employees in District 5 in Florida; member of the National Board of Control for Alzheimers Representatives of Region 3; served as President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he initiated the Little League Program and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and spending time with his family and also enjoyed taking cruises with his wife. In total they have been on 27 trips. He is survived by his wife, Lily Lambert of Sebring; daughters, Linda Lambert, Mentor, Ohio and Vicki Lambert, Boulder, Colorado; son, Dr. Glen Lambert, Elwood, Tennessee; step-sons, David Norris, Buckeye, Arizona and Kent Norris, Elwood, Illinois; sisters, Betty Chase, St. Petersburg, FL and Linda McCurdy, Napoleon, Ohio; brothers, Wayne Lambert, Virginia and Thomas Lambert, Ohio and six grandchildren. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Chapel, Sebring, with Rev. A.C. Bryant officiating.
