James Elmer Hecox

The family of James Elmer Hecox is saddened to announce his passing on September 8, 2025. James was born on August 12, 1945 in Lyons, New York to the late Elmer and Jennie Hecox.

James was a faithful Christian who served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years in Massachusetts and as a member of Bible Fellowship Church. He was a proud member of the United States Army from 1964-1968. He worked for the Ashby, MA Police Department, Sebring Police Department and Highlands County Sheriff's department. James was the owner of Middle Motors in downtown Sebring. Family members will remember James as being a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was a motorcycle enthusiast that loved the open road, singing karaoke and line dancing with his wife.

James is survived by his daughter Marcia (Daniel) Wilson, son Robert Hecox, and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents, wife Maureen Hecox and son William Hecox.

A memorial service will be held at Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation starts at 3:00 pm and service to follow at 4:00 pm.
