Jim Gillies, 75, of Sebring, FL, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Sebring. He was born March 7, 1937, to Phillip Hutton and Ellen Jane (Plumb) Gillies in Evansville, Indiana and had been a resident of Sebring since 1987, coming from Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was owner of Jim Gillies Ford in Crawfordsville; was a supporter of Shriner's Children's Hospital and often provided transportation for children who were under treatment at the Shriner's Children's Hospital. He was a Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed golfing, often working at the Pro Shop at Pinecrest Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca L. Gillies of Sebring; mother, Ellen Jane Gillies, Sault St. Marie, MI; daughters, Sharon Rebecca (Carlos) Gillies-Perez, Waverly, GA; Jodie Diane Cantrell, Kennesaw, GA and Kelly Ann (John) Noaker, Douglasville, GA; son, Raymond William (Beth) Gillies, Ft. Wayne, IN; brothers, John Gillies; David Gillies; Chris Gillies; Peter Gillies; Daniel Gillies and Ben Gillies; sister, Sarah Spencer; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hope Hospice, 4840 Sun N Lake Blvd., Sebring, FL 33872.
