James Madison Davis

James Madison Davis, age 91, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on June 9, 1923 in Bar Harbor, Maine to the late Ruben and Christine Davis. James has been a resident of Frostproof for over 20 years having come from Key Largo, Florida. He served in the US Navy during WWII, held his own private pilot's license, and worked as a carpenter. James is survived by his son: James Madison Davis, Jr. (Jenny) of Maine, step-sons: Paul Scott (Andrea) of Punta Gorda, Fl, Alfred Scott (Carol) of Texas, sister: Christine Lindscot of Maine, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Mary "Mae" Davis. Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, Florida with Funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment will follow services at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park, Florida.
