Curtis, James M. Sr., 81 of Sebring died Friday September 16, 2016 after a short illness. He was the youngest of 11 children of Carl and Lydia (Hanks) Curtis. Mr. Curtis was the loving husband of Jane E (Quill) Curtis for 59 years. He was born in Beverly, MA and moved to Florida in 2002. Mr. Curtis was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne from 1954-57. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Avon Park and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Mr. Curtis was a life-long New England sports fan who especially loved the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He is survived by his son James M Curtis, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of North Attleboro, MA and his daughter Julie Toth and her husband William of Derry, NH. He is also survived by his sister Natalie Brady of Pembroke Pines, FL and William Curtis of Amesbury, MA. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Mary Kate (Curtis) Plante and her husband Andrew Plante of Providence RI, Kelly and Brendan Curtis of North Attleboro, MA and William Toth of Derry, NH. Mr. Curtis is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church in Avon Park on September 20, 2016. A memorial mass will also be held at St. Marks Church in North Attleboro, MA at a later date.
