James “Jim” A. Causyn, age 75, of Sebring, FL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 5, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1950, in Rochester, NY, to the late Violet and Alphonse Causyn. Jim lived the majority of his life in Western New York, before relocating to Sebring, FL in May of 2024.
Jim was a hardworking and determined man with many hobbies. He owned his own auto detail business, which entailed buying, painting, and flipping cars. He was very passionate about cars, especially the older models. One of his favorite things to do was participate in demolition derby races as a driver. He liked to live on the wild side.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially riding his fourwheeler. He also owned a few horses, whom he cared for deeply. Jim also took pleasure in playing poker, as well as playing bingo with his wife Donna. Jim loved to make others laugh. He was a jokester at heart. Even during his health struggles, he still managed to keep a smile on his face and a good attitude like the true fighter he was.
Above all else, Jim loved his family. He and his wife Donna spent 28 wonderful years together, and although he may not be here today, true love never dies. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Jim had 8 children whom he loved more than anything. No love is greater than a father’s love for his children.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Donna Causyn of Sebring, FL, His 8 children, son Phil (Yvonne) Newbould Sr. of Sebring, FL, daughter Christine (Scott) Lutes of Holley, NY, daughter Kelly (Jim) Lutz of Holley, NY, son Jim (Tina) Causyn Sr. of Byron, NY, son Ed Causyn of Brockport, NY, son Timothy (Betty Jo) Newbould of Grand Island, NY, daughter Bridget (Doug) Tower of Albion, NY daughter Donna (Freeland) Ault of DeLand, FL. His siblings John Causyn, William Causyn, Sharon Nenni, Jean Davis, and Eileen Siesert.
Jim is preceded in death by his late parents Alphonse and Violet Causyn, his late sister Nancy Pegg, as well as his late fur baby, a golden lab named Lacota. Jim’s hard work, kindness, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace, Jim. Your spirit and love will continue to shine in the hearts of those you’ve left behind.
