James "Jim" Carlson died April 8, 2016 after an extended illness in Sebring, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Liana Carlson, brothers: Gill Renneckar of Henderson, Nevada; Philip Carlson; Mark Carlson and Perry Carlson of Pt. Allegany, Pennsylvania and sisters: Katherine Card Pool of Henderson, Nevada; Diane Herger of New Brighton, Pennsylvania and Candace Card Pavese of New Freedom, Pennsylvania. Carlson had five nieces, seven nephews and two grand-nephews. Carlson was preceded in death by his father Philip Carlson, mother Phylis Gillett Card and grandparents James and Mabel Carlson of Pennsylvania. Carlson was an avid golfer and bowler. He also enjoyed stock car and NASCAR races. He collected Oldsmobile 442 vehicles and anything associated with that model. He owned and showed a 1983 Hurst Oldsmobile that was awarded best in class at many events throughout the eastern United States. Carlson served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the USPS as a letter carrier. Memorial services are planned in Pt. Allegany, Pennsylvania at a later date.
