James H. Bivens

James H. "Jim" Bivens, age 80 passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Bivens was born in Lamar, Missouri to Donald and Faye (Ross) Bivens. He was a mechanic, a member of the VFW, American Legion, Avon Park Moose Lodge and the Avon Park Honor Guard; he was of the Lutheran faith and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1977 coming from Homestead, Florida. He is survived by his children-Richard Bivens of Reidsville, Georgia, Troy Bivens of Brunswick, Georgia, Denelle Pollitt of Avon Park, Florida and Denise Clayton of Sebring, Florida; brothers-Michael Bramlett of Buena Park, California, John Bivens, Michael Bivens and Patrick Bivens all of Barstow, California; sisters-Dea Hosier of Shady Cove, Oregon and Sandra Cattin of Talent, Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, Florida with Chaplain Cecil Kent officiating.
