James Wesley Barnes

James Wesley Barnes, 58, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on February 17, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1965, in Orlando, Florida, to James Richard Barnes and Sandra Jo (Moore) Barnes. James, otherwise known as “Barney,” was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

A dedicated Block Mason in the construction industry, Barney took pride in his craftsmanship and was known for his attention to detail and strong work ethic. His skills and passion for his work left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Barney found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments with his family. He was a devoted father to his children, Katlyn Haley Watson (son-in-law Aaron Watson), Amber Leigh Barnes, James “J.R.” Richard Barnes II, and Brittany Cassandra (Cousins) Wagner a loving brother to Gary Barnes and Wendy Barnes, and a wonderful uncle to Garrett Barnes, Walker Evans Barnes, and Sophie Minor. His family was his greatest source of happiness, and he took immense pride in being a “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren, Waylon Cole Watson, Colton Lane Watson, Aaliyah RaeLyn Wagner, and Jaimon Zarek Wagner.

In his free time, Barney indulged in his hobbies and interests, finding solace in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck, and spending time at River Ranch. Barney loved watching NASCAR races and could often be found in the backwoods honing his skills. His passion for life and unwavering love for his family and grandsons were evident to all who knew him.

Barney will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the legacy of hard work and dedication he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved and cherished by all who knew him.
