Jack Norman Erickson

May 27, 1936 — November 27, 2024

Kissimmee

Jack was born in Spokane, Washington on May 27, 1936, to Ila and Clayton Erickson. He was the oldest of five children and had two brothers, Curt and Steve, and two sisters, Donna and Judy. He loved playing the trumpet in the Deer Park High School band and graduated in 1954.

Jack married his first wife, Carol James, in 1957, and had three daughters: Laurie, Chris, and Kathy. Jack and Carol eventually parted ways. Later, Jack married the love of his life, Ginger Cole, in 1968, and had one stepdaughter, Debi. Jack has 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Jack worked for an aluminum company and later hung billboard signs for a living. For years he was a rancher and farmer on his father-in-law’s ranch in Moses Lake, Washington. He raised Hereford cattle and crops including corn and alfalfa hay. Jack enjoyed riding the Quarter horses on the ranch, and his favorite horse was the bay stallion named Jag. Later, Jack became a successful insurance salesman and worked for both Farmer’s and Equitable. He was an excellent trumpet player and singer and sang and played for dances on the weekends.

Jack was baptized the first time when he was three years old. When he was 85, he talked about God with his friend, Chaplain Robert, and said, “Robert, I believe, I believe, I believe.” Jack asked to be baptized, so Robert baptized him at the AdventHealth Care Center in Celebration in 2021.

Jack loved his family and friends, snow skiing, Norway, playing the trumpet, singing, coffee, working out at the gym, and animals (especially Dobermans, cats, horses, and cattle). He was a proud Norwegian and visited Norway where his ancestors were from. He had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh. Jack was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
