Jack L. Dobbs

JACK L. DOBBS Jack L. Dobbs, 81, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in Sebring. He was born April 18, 1929, to Miles and Ollie (Robertson) Dobbs in Plano, Illinois, and had been a resident of The Villages of Highlands Ridge in Avon Park since 1995, coming from Rockford, Illinois. He was employed in the food packaging industry, working as an Engineer for the APU Manufacturing Company (formerly Anderson Brothers Manufacturing Company) in Rockford, Illinois, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Mens Golf Association at Highlands Ridge from 1995-2005. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hazel L. Dobbs, whom he married October 15, 1950; his son, Gregory (Shirlee) Dobbs of Colorado; daughter, Vicky Dobbs of Illinois; brother, Norman Dobbs; sister, Daisy Chamberlain; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Smith; Angela Campobello; Jason Dobbs and Scott Dobbs and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, Alva, Robert, Ralph and Charles Dobbs and sisters, Ada Smith and Mabel Schiradelly.
