J. Rodger Lewis

J. Rodger Lewis, age 77, passed away on February 21, 2014, in Sebring, FL. He was born on November 30, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late William E. and Eva (Hettinger) Lewis. He was a member of the Warren Lodge 240 F&AM; Valley of Scranton Consistory and Irem Temple Shrine-Wilkes-Barre. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Wilkes University and a Master's degree from Lehigh University. He was employed as Superintendent of Schools for Montrose Area School District. He had been a resident of Sebring since 2003, coming from Montrose, PA. He attended the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park where his wife is the choir director. He is survived by his wife, Susan Lewis; daughter, Lynne Ziss (Jon) - West Chester, PA; son, William R. Lewis (Deborah) - Montrose, PA; grandchildren: Alexandra, Nichole, Matthew and Christopher Lewis and Garrett Ziss. There will be a memorial service on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 11:00am, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, FL, with Father Nicholas McLoughlin and W. Mike Adams officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service, the location to be announced during the service.
