Passed away on December 14, 2021, at age 82, with family members by his side. Ivan was diagnosed with MDS, a blood disorder, which quickly took his life. Ivan was born and raised in Spirit Lake, IA. He enjoyed playing basketball and football on the high school team. After attending college at the University of Iowa and University of Minnesota, Ivan met his wife Mary while on a hospital visit in Rochester, MN. Ivan and Mary built a life together spanning 59 years of marriage. Ivan's working career was focused on banking where he managed the Consumer Loan Department at Eastern Heights State Bank in St. Paul for many years. Ivan greatly valued time with family and friends and particularly enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing, golf, snowmobiling and vacationing with Mary.

In his retirement years, Ivan maintained residences in Avon Park, FL and Danbury, WI. Ivan's sense of humor and fun-loving nature will be missed by all who knew him. Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Mary, brother Jim (Nancy), children John (Melane), Bob (Laura), Mike (Ann Marie) and Angela, sisters-in-law Anna and Judy (Dwayne), ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Life will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, FL on Sunday, February 13th at noon CST with a luncheon to follow at Orangewood Acres clubhouse in Avon Park, FL.
