IRWIN F. "PETE" HARRISON Irwin F. "Pete" Harrison, 88, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, in Sebring. He was born April 24, 1924, to Frank Marion and Clara Eleanor (Urwin) Harrison in Gallia County, Ohio, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1997, coming from Toledo, Ohio. He was employed in the construction business as a Carpenter/Builder and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a Tail Gunner on a B-24, where he flew 34 missions. Was a member of Highlands County Chapter 288 N.A.R.F.E., where he served as Chaplain; was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Harrison of Sebring; three sons, Jeffery (Charlene) Harrison, Tamassee, South Carolina; Tom Harrison, Toledo, Ohio and David Harrison, Whitmore Lake, Michigan; brother, William (Sandra) Harrison; sisters, Frances (George) Sheets and Emogene Mangold, all of Ohio and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; sons, Robert and John; brothers and sisters, Edgar; Clay; Kenneth; Howard; Richard; Mary; Ruth and Eleanor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at St. John United Methodist Church, Sebring, with Rev. Ronald DeGenaro, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends the hour preceding the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Florida.
