Irene B. Griffin

Irene B. Griffin, age 84 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at her home. She was born December 12, 1935 in Panama City Panama to James Barton and Doris Semper. She worked as the Head Time Keeper in New York City. After she left New York in the 1990’s she moved to Miami, Florida where she worked in Social Services. She moved to Avon Park Florida in 2007.  Irene loved knitting, reading, nurturing others and serving the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Althea Griffin.   Irene is survived by her son Alfredo Parkins (Janice), daughter Melissa A, Parkins Talbron, God- daughter, Wanda Tookes (Ronald) and God-daughter, Desirie Falton, and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is survived by several other family and friends and her church family Faith Pentecostal House of God.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.  Help her kindness, loyalty and compassion continue by making a donation to, or volunteering at, a local charity for children.

A private burial will be in Miami Florida.
