HUGH R. SMALLWOOD Hugh R. Smallwood, 74, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, in Sebring. He was born April 28, 1938 in Gainesville, Georgia, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1982, coming from Savannah, Georgia. He was a District Sales Manager for a hardware company; a charter member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church and he enjoyed Southern Gospel singing. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Smallwood; step-son, James S. (Phyllis) Scaggs; granddaughter, Laura Scaggs and a host of relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Parkway Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. James Scaggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, Sebring, will be immediately following the service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Freewill Baptist Church, 3413 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, Florida 33870.
