Howard Thomas Ludlam, age 98, of Avon Park, FL passed away Monday, September 9, 2019. He was born May 18, 1921 in Wellsboro, PA to Sterry and Ruby Mae (Wilson) Ludlam. Howard was a Carpenter, an Entrepreneur in sporting goods and drycleaner. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WW II from 1942-1946, attended First Baptist Church of Avon Park, enjoyed wood working, stained glass, golfing, hunting and fishing where he caught 21 largemouth bass over 10 pounds throughout his fishing career. He has been a resident of Avon Park, FL since 1973, coming from New York State. Survivors include his Daughter – Lauri Ann Jones of Lake Placid, FL; Sons – Louis Ludlam of Texas; Larry Ludlam (Donna) of Rincon, GA; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; Companion – Doris M. McInvale; and Son – Virgil McInvale (Theresa) and Daughter – Janet Tindell (Ricky). Howard was preceded in death by his Wife of 63 years – Helen Confer Ludlam; Daughter – Linda Michel; Son-in-law – Lew Jones; and Brother – Mark Ludlam. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 6:00 PM with family receiving friends starting at 5:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Avon Park.
