Howard A. Fleetwood, age 84, passed away on Monday December 8, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Pearl River, New York to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Reilly) Fleetwood. Howard attended St. Xavier High School in New York City and Pearl River High School. After graduating he joined the Navy at 17 years old. He was a veteran of 21 years, serving in Korea during the Korean War, as well as many stations stateside and overseas. After the Navy he spent a career of 20 years with Arthur Young and Co. in Philadelphia. Upon retiring, Howard and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Golf Hammock in Sebring, FL, in November of 1990. Howard was an avid golfer. He was also a founding member and first president of the Military Sea Services Museum in Sebring, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Fleetwood of Sebring, FL; three daughters, Maureen Fulginiti of Sebring, Karen Fleetwood of Virginia, and Patrice Conolly of Medford, NJ; one son, Thomas Fleetwood of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren: Jennifer Fulginiti, Ian Conolly, Allyson Storey, Caitlin Fleetwood and Bryce Fleetwood, and two great-grandchildren. Along with his parents Howard was preceded in death by two sisters. The family would like to say a special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice for their kindness and care during his stay. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2014 beginning at 11:00am at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm.
