Hilda L. Speaks

Hilda L. Speaks, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Palm Harbor, Florida.  She was born on October 12, 1923 in Bellaire, Ohio to the late Nelson and Carrie (Fraley) Spinks.  Hilda moved to Sebring in 1978 from Steubenville, Ohio and was a very active member of Heartland Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and her involvement with the Sebring Hills Community Center where she made many friends.  She loved her family dearly.  Survivors include her children, Karen Frey (Gary) of Lakeland, FL; Sharon McNeil (James) of Seminole, FL; James Speaks, Jr. (Maura) of Palm Harbor, FL; Timothy Speaks (Cheryl) of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Geraldine Mason of Winterville, OH, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Speaks, Sr. in 2008.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring and then the Celebration of Life service will follow beginning at 4:00 pm at Heartland Christian Church with her Pastor Ted Moore officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to:  Suncoast Hospice ( www.suncoasthospice.org ) or Heartland Christian Church, 2705 Alt.
