Henry William Silke

Henry William Silke, 85, of Sebring, FL, a U.S. Marine veteran, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022.  He was born November 26, 1936 in New Philadelphia, OH to Herman J. Silke and Bessie E. (Mason) Silke.  Henry had been a resident of Sebring after retiring from Reeves Steel and moving from Dover, OH in 1987.  He served as an elder in both the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sebring, and Christ Lutheran Church in Avon Park.

Henry is survived by his wife Constance (Smith) (Kohl) Silke, daughter Dianna (Thomas) Lee of Louisville, KY, and sister Arlene (Silke) McInnes of Dover, OH; Aaron (Sara) Kohl of North Bend, OR whose children Karis, Avery, Scarlett and Piper Kohl considered him “grandpa”.  He was preceded in death by his wife Carole (White) Silke, sister Helen (Silke) Hawkins and sons Henry William, Jr; William Jay and John Sherman Silke.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 28 ^th at Christ Lutheran Church in Avon Park.  Memorials may be made in his memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 1320 County Rd 64E, Avon Park, FL 33825.
