Henry "Hank" Held

HENRY HANK HELD, JR. Hank Held, Jr., 62, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 in Tampa, Fl. He was born November 17, 1947 to Henry A. and Susan V. (Purcell) Held in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1977, coming from Orlando. He was a restaurant manager and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War; a member of the American Legion; the Salvation Army and Board of Directors for the Highlands County Humane Society. He volunteered with the Salvation Army and was Santa Claus for the Sebring Circle of Lights and other groups. For him to live was serving others. He was an amazing father. Mr. Held is survived by his daughter, Katherine (Jason) Stone, Sebring; son, Brian Held, Bushnell, FL; sisters, Susan Wadsworth; Penny Kruse; Margaret Nielson; Phyllis Losonczy and Martha Vogel and three grandchildren. Memorial Services, with Military Honors, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Major Bruce Stefanik officiating, with inurnment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, immediately following.
