Hazel Elizabeth Downs Cassels, age 65, passed away on Tuesday February 9, 2021 in Sarasota, FL. She was born on January 12, 1956 to the late Larson Edwards Downs Sr. and Martha Lee (Mott) Downs. She had been a lifelong resident of Highlands County. Hazel enjoyed  reading, sewing and loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband – Henry; children – Jeannie Sircy (Eric), Nancy Cassels, Tina Smith (Robert) all of Sebring, FL; siblings – Larson Downs Jr. (Carolyn); Otis Downs, both of Lake Placid, FL; Mary Downs – Janikowski (Frank). Surviving are also 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm until service time at 2:00pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, FL.
