Hattie Elizabeth Hannah, 99, of Sebring, FL passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. Hattie was born May 27, 1913 in Spandau, Germany and immigrated to the United States with her parents, Max and Frieda (Zibell) Sawallich in 1914. Hattie moved to Sebring in 2000 coming from St. Johns, MI. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Sebring, FL; First Congregational Church in St. Johns, MI and the First Presbyterian Church in South Lyon, MI. After raising her son and daughter as a stay-at-home mom, Hattie briefly entered the business world. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital (Ann Arbor, MI) in the admissions office, was bookkeeper for the Michigan Municipal League in Ann Arbor, MI and the Clinton County News in St. Johns, MI. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, John W. Hannah, St. Johns, MI; her brother, Charles M. Sawallich, Brighton, MI and step-son, Charles A. Hannah, Muskego, WI. Hattie is survived by her son, James R. Wiseman, Onaway, MI; her daughter Sally W. (Al) Pals, Sebring, FL; granddaughters, Stacy Quatela, Meadow Vista, CA and Dana (Todd) Buckmaster, East Jordan, MI. Step-grandchildren, William (Robin) Pals, Longmont, CO; Dianne (Patrick) McGahan, Ypsilanti, MI; Stephan Pals Boulder, CO; Cheryl (Bruce) Borek, Muskego, WI; Tom Hannah, Orlando, FL and great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Hattie was a special aunt to her nephews Paul (Cindy) Sawallich, Brighton, MI; Bill (Jessie) Sawallich, Pinckney, MI; Wally (Bridget) Sawallich, Brighton, MI and niece Lori Sawallich, Howell, MI. Hattie was truly loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Hattie believed in God and His creation and although she has left this life, her light will continue to shine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ with Pastor George Miller officiating.
