Harry L. Wakefield

Harry L. Wakefield, age 90, of Avon Park, FL and Hollis, ME went to be with his precious Lord on July 21, 2015. He was born in Hollis, ME the son of Walter and Susie Libby Wakefield. Harry graduated from Hollis High School in 1943 and was called to serve his country in the European Theatre in Battery C 128th Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion and was discharged in 1946. Harry worked as a lineman for many years and retired from Kennebunk Light and Power in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Lelia Wakefield, his three children: Tony and wife Nancy, Mike and wife Louise, Mary Smith and husband Delmont, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law: Grace Wakefield, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother: Roland Wakefield. Harry's greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. His wish was for all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to love the Lord with all their heart. Harry was known for his quick wit, sense of humor that got him through many trials, his strong work ethics, honesty, integrity, and faithful love for his Lord and to his family. Harry was a member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church since wintering in Florida. In the summer he attended his home town church: Hollis Center Baptist. The family would like to thank the staff at Cornerstone Hospice and Royal Care Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks for Donations to be made to Cornerstone Christian Academy at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. A memorial service officiated by Reverend George Hall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church.
