HAROLD L. SIMMONS Harold L. Simmons, age 83, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was born on June 5, 1927 in Point Pleasant, Ohio to Lester Jacob and Florence (Mount) Simmons. He was a Superintendent in the asphalt industry, member of the Christ Fellowship Church, the Shrine, a 60 year Mason, past Master of the Buckeye Lodge in New Richmond, Ohio, Founder of the VFW Post in New Richmond, Ohio, served in the U.S. Marines during WW II, and has been a resident of Sebring, Florida since 2000, coming from Jensen Beach, Florida. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Dorothy Simmons of Sebring, FL; Daughter Deborah Cartwright (Roscoe) of New Richmond, OH; Step-Daughter Deborah Ann Markell of Portland, OR; Brother Russell L. Simmons of Sebring, FL; 6 Grandchildren; and 7 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two Sons Curtis Edison Simmons and Michael Allen Simmons; and two Daughters Myra Lynn Gray and Sandra Fish. A Memorial Service will be held in New Richmond, OH at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
