Harold S. Johnson was born 11 February 1928 in New Port, KY to Oren and Loretta Stephens Johnson. He deceased Monday, August 15, 2016 in Avon Park, FL. He moved to Avon Park, FL in 1990 from Manchester, KY where he served as Chaplain at Memorial Hospital before retiring. After moving to Avon Park he served as Chaplain at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center. He served in the Army Air Corp in the Philippines at the close of World War II. He served as Chaplain with the USAF/Auxiliary, the Civil Air Patrol, the Avo Park Air Force Range, and “B” Battery of the 116th Field Artillery FLANG. Chaplain Johnson served as a missionary with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Sudan, Africa, Jordan, Beirut, Lebanon, Tehran, Iran, and Blantyre Malawi, Africa. He has one son: Stephen Johnson of Collegedale, TN and one daughter: Karen Burns of Batesville, AR; three grandchildren: Ceilidh Johnson, John and Marjorie Burns. Harold was preceded in death by his wife: Harriet Johnson.
