HAROLD DAVIS Harold Davis, 88, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at his home in Sebring, FL. He was the beloved husband of 67 years of Eunice Lucille Davis; devoted father of Pam Baily, Hal Davis and his wife Connie; cherished grandfather of Shelly Gibson and her husband Mike and U.S. Army Specialist Jesiah Davis; beloved brother of Ilene Meyers and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his older sister Rita Haney; a brother George Davis and two grandchildren, Scotty Armbruster and Caleb Davis. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 3, 1924 and he and his two sisters were raised during the Great Depression. At age 18 he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. In 1949, he opened Harold's Frame Shop and his business grew so that in 1970, he opened a second location in Novi, Michigan. He began "semi" retirement in 1976 at Sun N Lake Golf and Country Club in Sebring, Florida. In 1979, he and his wife attended the First Baptist Church of Sebring, eventually becoming members. He retired fully in 1993 and turned his attention fulltime to his passions of golf and fishing. He made many friends and throughout the years, he helped many customers, employees and fellow retirees. His generous spirit and kindness will forever serve as a role model for all who knew him and loved him. God has blessed a man that blessed others; this was his legacy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Sebring, with Rev. Allen Higginbotham officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
